It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our colleague, sister and friend Elena de Groot, who left this world far too soon on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at the age of 36. 

Born in Niagara Falls on February 25, 1989, Elena was a devoted daughter, big sister and loving "Auntie". Family was her greatest love, and she brought warmth, laughter, and togetherness to every gathering.

Joining the Bliss family in 2023, with 15 years experience behind the chair, Elena shone as a hairstylist where she had a special gift for making others feel not only beautiful but also seen and cared for. Her clients and coworkers alike admired her creativity, kindness, and genuine spirit. Elena was adventurous and full of life—always ready for board games, camping trips, trying new healthy recipes, watching movies, working out, singing along to music in the car, and simply spending time with family and friends. Her laughter and joyful energy filled every room she entered.

Elena’s journey was marked by extraordinary courage. She bravely fought her first round of cancer at just 24 years old, and when brain cancer returned in February 2024, she met it with resilience, faith, and determination. Elena continued to fight with grace until the cancer no longer responded to treatment in the summer of 2025. She passed peacefully, surrounded by those who loved her most.

Elena will be remembered for her beauty—inside and out—her courage, her laughter, and the love she gave so freely. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and faith that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever. We miss you sweet friend!
